Ohio Animal Control Bat Nuisance

Most of the time the problem starts when they decide to take up residence in your home or attic. And most of the time the colonies are there long before they are ever noticed or the guano (bat droppings), Bug problems or smell give them away. Most people don’t like the idea of having bats in their home for sure and then they must be excluded from the home and the home needs to be sealed up. NEVER seal up a home without evicting the bats first or you are going to have major problems.

And it is illegal to kill bats, they are a state and federally protected species.

Most of the time the inside of the home can be sealed up to keep them out until a service tech can get to your home. If you do get one in your home, a small net, plastic container can be used to remove them. Never grab a bat with your bare hands, bats can carry rabies and should be handled carefully. If the bat is captured in sleeping quarters of the home it should be sent off for rabies testing. (contact your local health department) If the home is sealed up and the bats are trapped inside they will find their way into the house trying to find a way out, and you will have a house full of bats, if they can’t find any way out then they will die and in a couple weeks you will have a major smell and mess.

After a complete and thorough inspection of the inside and outside of the structure, our service technicians will set down and go over everything they find and what will need to be done to correct the problem and answer any questions you may have.

Southern Ohio Nuisance Wildlife Control LLC uses a combination of exclusion, netting, sealing and one way doors to remove the bats from your home. Then the home or building gets sealed up. Bats use air flow to come and go from structures and a complete seal up will be done to ensure there are no future problems.

We also offer complete Guano (bat droppings) clean up and disposal services when needed. (Proper safety protection should always we worn when cleaning up any animal droppings.)

(Above)Large boom truck set up in a three story historic home, exclusion and complete seal up of home, and attic clean up was preformed. This was a large project, bats were in four chimneys, porch roof, attic, soffit and behind the shutters.

(Above)Example of an entrance the bats were using to gain access to this home. Someone had tried to screen the eve vents but left a small gap on each end. Bats would come through the louvers and around the screen to get strait in the attic. A complete exclusion and seal up along with proper screening of the eve vents was preformed to solve the problem.
